Project Concept: The Industrial Prometheus
This monumental mural was commissioned for the Horse Engine Factory in Pitești. "Prometeu Fieraru" (Prometheus the Blacksmith) depicts a modern worker holding fire — framing it not as distant mythology, but as a visceral, industrial, daily reality.
The entire composition is framed as a massive vintage postage stamp, built upon a heavy conceptual layout: the worker as a monument, the factory as a country.
Weaving Tradition into Architecture
• The Border: The decorative border of the stamp is meticulously formed by actual engine parts — pistons, gears, and bearings — directly connecting traditional Romanian ornamental patterns with modern industrial production.
• The Integration: The building's physical architecture is seamlessly woven into the artwork. The real factory windows function as negative space, making the structural grid an active part of the composition.
The Execution: Navigating the heavy boom lift through a complex industrial environment with tight wall access made it a highly demanding yet rewarding experience, made possible by a truly great local crew.
